suddenly, i can't save jpegs to my computer. i am only
given the choice to save, what is a known jpeg, pics as
bitmap. any ideas

The usual cure is to empty your TIF folder (C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet
Files)

Your temporary cache is full. Make sure you've saved anything in it that you
want to keep then from Internet Explorer click on Tools > Internet Options >
General > Delete Files > [x] Delete all offline content > OK
