Joystick Problems

I have a new computer - gone from Windows 98SE to Windows XP. Now Microsoft
Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 is being hard to control. The throttle control
indicates it is working properly in the Settings. In the game throttel is
either full on or half off. The stick is very sensitive and hard to keep any
aircraft in level flight. Microsoft informs me that there is no longer any
support (since 2004) for this joystick.
Any info on a "fix" would be very much appreciated.

Have you tried turning sensitivity down in Flight Simulator (I'm assuming)?
