Journal Tab in Contacts

Kent Smith

I recovered a 490MB pst file off a dead pc. I imported the
pst into a new pc with Office 2000. The old pc has Outlook
98. My client told me that when he goes into Contacts the
Journal Tab is missing. He said in Outlook 98 there was a
Journal Tab in the Contacts where he kept notes. There is
not this Journal Tab in the Contacts for Outlook 2000. How
do I get that Tab or do I have to install Outlook 98 for
my client to get this information back. I do not have a
copy of Outlook 98 and neither does anyone I know. Does
anyone know how I can get a copy?

Outlook 2000 changed the name of the tab from Journal to Activities. Importing a PST, however, breaks the links between journaled items and the related contacts. You would be better off using the original PST file instead of importing.
