I have noticed several posts about this problem. All have
gone unanswered. Has anyone come up with a solution to the
journal no longer recording?

Tom

Have you checked the settings in Outlook 2003 of

Tools - Options - Journal Options

Make sure what you want the journal to record is checked

If you have done this already, then I'm at a loss much like you.

I've also got this problem. My IT folks claim "it just happens and there is
no way to reverse it." Seems a little crazy to me. I even went into Regedit
and checked the registry entries for Journaling. they are all there and "on"
so I don't know what is going on. It is very frustrating and I'd like to see
a response, one way or another, from somone aknowledging the problem.

Same issue here. In fact, I posted the issue earlier today before seeing
this thread. If we get enough posts, maybe someone will help us out.

Hi Guys,
My journal stopped recording in June.
I noticed a few days ago that that the journal file size was up to 9.5 mb.
I archived most of it (excluding Jan 03 to present) and YEAH, it began
tracking the files again. I suspect there may be a 10 mb cap.
Or maybe the gremlins offered me a Christmas gift.
I dunno.

Gerry

I just picked up on your archiving suggestion but it has not worked for me.

I also have the same issue. One thing I haven't tried is to reduce the total
size of the mailbox not just the journal. Has anyone else tried this? I
really hate to part with anything in the mailbox unless microsoft or someone
can give a definitive fix.

We are also experiencing this problem on a couple of our laptops. Both are
running Outlook 2003 through Exchange 5.5 and the journal has stopped
recording. When accessing the users exchange mailbox on another PC the
journal works so it appears to be specific to the PC. Any help would be
appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. In Outlook 2003, Tools, Options...,
Preferences, then Journal options ---- I noticed that most of my Outlook
contacts are not listed under "For these contacts"

Why are not all my contacts listed? How can I get them all added and when a
new contact is created, it will automaticlly appear in this list?

If a contact does not appear in the above list for all of us that are having
this problem, could this be the reason why journal entries are not showing
up? More importantly, how does this get fixed?
