Journal in OL 2003

I have a journal that I use primarily to track e-mail
to/from key contacts.

There are some contacts that are not "key" anymore and I
would like to remove them from the journal. But, I don't
want to remove them completely as as a contact.

I can't figure out how to do this.

Say I have a contact "Mr. John Doe" I used to track e-
mail to/from him. But now I don't need to because he has
moved to another position. He still appears in my
journal list even though I have unchecked his
categories. I checked the contact details and there is
nothing special checked here, either.

If he appears in your journal folder, then you still have journal items
related to that person. Delete them if you don't want them any more.
