Joining XP to a Windows 2003 Domain

Pete

I'm attempting to join my XP Pro desktop to a domain that
is only 1 Windows 2003 server. Of the two i have tried,
I have been able to join 1 XP desktop to the domain. The
other XP desktop is given the Access Denied error. I get
a logon prompt, so I know my DNS settting are correct and
I'm using the same account as I did the first XP box. I
have tried using several domain Admin Accounts with no
success.

Any Ideas?

Hi Pete,

Have 2 computer accounts (one for each) got created in active directory on
the windows 2003 server ?

On the server

start/run
dsa.msc

Click on computers,
If only one account is present , manually create one for the second xp
system,

I already have the computer object created. If I use the network ID wizard, it says that a computer account has been found. But I get access denied after that.

I am logged on as a local administrator on the XP box to join to the domain, but using a domain admin account when it prompts me for a username/passwords

One other thing that might be related, I am unable to map to connect to a share on the domain controller using an administrative user from the domain. I can from a different XP Pro box that is not a part of the domain, but from this one PC, i can't. I have enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP and I get a logon dialog box, but it never works.
