jetcomp.exe error message "Can't compact this version of database

Trying to repair a corrupt mdb.
I run jetcomp.exe and got this message.
By the way, on the Tools menu item of the jetcomp.exe, what is the "Set
System database Loction"/
When I run jetcomp.exe, I have to first right-click of the exe and select
"Run as..." and then use 'Current user'. If not doing so, jetcomp pop-up a
dialog box prompting for user / password'. Why?

If you've applied Access user-level security, you have to specify the MDW
file that was create/used when you applied the security. That's the System
database to which it's referring.

Thanks Douglas, There is no auser-level secutity on the database that I am
trying to repari; thet means I do not need to set system database location;
i blank it out.

How about the error message "Can't compact this version of database"? It
does not compact. I even tried one that is not corrupted. And all these
mdb were created as XP 2002 formats! The jetcomp.exe version is 4.0.1523.0
And my msaccess.exe version is 10.6771.6626 SP3.

I read somewhere that if the mdb is located in a network and that muitiple
user with different level of service packs of client msaccess.exe will
cause "wired" thing. Could that be one of the reason that this "backend" mdb
file was crorrupted? I am trying to compact/repair this backend mdb which
contains only the tables.

Could anyone has any comment on any company that offer repairing mdb file?

Dear Marcel:

I like it.

Now, Access queries are generally not case sensitive.

Your palindromic sentence seems to be not space sensitive. That's a new
one.
