Jet Dabatase Engine

Newbie question here: sorry if its being covered before, but I haven't found
any reference to it

We are trying to get our application across to XPe, and this includes a
simple mdb database. The application works fine on our development system
(we've all heard that before, I guess...) but although we have built the
target with MDAC and Jet, we cannot connect using either the OLEDB or the
ODBC (yuck!) driver.

As far as we can tell, the appropriate DLLs and registry entries are there.

There isn't a standalone installer for Jet (it was dropped from MDAC as of
V2.5 I believe), and trying to install 2.5 fails unsurprisingly.

This is all getting a little boring. If anybody can shed any light, we'd be
very grateful.

One other thing. We're still using the evaluation copy. Does this have a
bearing?

Some further information.

We managed to get the ODBC driver working when we realised that a couple of
DLLs were missing (ODBCJT32.DLL and ODBCJI32.DLL)

I'd prefer to use the OLE driver though.......

Hello Tony

No, the Eval Version is the same as the full version of XP-E.
the only difference is the 120 day timebomb and the field to enter
the PID in Target Device Settings.
I will also send you a direct mail regarding the database problem.
