Jerky picture after pausing

I have an ati 8500 running XP. When I pause and then unpause the picture
is jerky and sometimes the sound is out of sync. I have the laterst
catylist drivers and MMC 8.9. Any ideas what is wrong. Thanks

You talking about DVD movies? If so, make sure DMA is enabled in
device manager on the DVD drive.
