Driver Version Recommendations

I have an AIW X1800XL using MMC 9.10 and the drivers from the CD. This
worked fine (or at least as fine as is possible with ATIs poor software...)
until recently when I installed a Sound Blaster xfi plat. Now, after the TV
plays awhile (via an STB to the svideo in on the card), motion starts to
become jerky. Sometimes it can get really bad, causing a 1 or 2 second delay
between 'jerks'.

This clears up if I shut the TV down and restart it. It began after the
sound card install.
Anyway, I'm hoping that a driver update will correct the problem. So, on to
the point:

Which MMC & driver seem to produce good and stable results? Also, can TVOD
be shut off or refused at the time of install in the newer versioons?

Thanks,

Hark

Try turning down the acceleration to basic(2nd from left) in DxDiag sound
page.

Do a repair install of MMC.

The registry hack for TVoD is in the knowledge base.

Might as well go to 9.15 if your going to go up. Everybody's system seems to
be different. Recommend you follow instructions at ati.com/install.

Good Luck

Hi T Shadow,

I tried the DxDiag settings you recommended, but it didn't seem to improve
anything. I also tried playing around with different Dx settings, all to no
avail. I finally installed 9.15 (after several attempts of trying to avoid
installing netfx & CCC & failing, I finally just did an express
install...guess I'll uninstall CCC & netfx and install ATI Tray Tools
later).
All seems well now, perhaps even better than originally, probably due to the
later version.

Anyway, thanks for your response.

Thanks again,
Hark
