I upgraded to Vista and now when I go to web sites like www.youtube.com or
havoktv.com it displays a message that says my java script is turned off or I
need to add on adobe flash player.

All MS OS's are best installed totally fresh, not as an upgrade to your
existing OS.

Go to Adobe's site and download the Flash uninstaller. While you're
there, download the latest Flash player. Uninstall Flash with the
uninstaller and then install the latest version of Flash. For Java,
uninstall any older versions and then get the latest version (JRE6u1,
which is sort of in the middle of the page) from Sun and install it.

When you download the Adobe Flash Player 9 Active X from Adobe's website you
are downloading it only for your current session. When you reboot your
computer the Flash Player will be gone. You must go to Microsoft's download
page and search for the "Standalone Installer for Flash". This will
permanently install the Flash on your system. Remove all previous versions
and updates of Java from your system before installing the latest Runtime,
which I believe is 6. Also, it is always much, much better to do a CLEAN
install of any operating system. Have a nice day.
