i am having problems viewing videos on youtube etc.when i click on a video it
says that either javascript is turned off or i need the latest adobe flash
player(which i have),so javascript must be the problem.however,im a bit of a
novice and dont know what javascript is or what to do.PLEASE help!!!thanks.

If you added "Noscript" to your Firefox browser, that could explain the
block of Jscript. If so, click the "S" in the lower right corner of the
screen and allow script on that page.

If you use the IE browser, it could be a security setting within the
browser. For Jscript Errors, you can look through the suggestions on
this web site:
http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US&q=javascript+errors

Try these first though.

Repair 5.6 Scripting Engine install:

Click, Start, Run, type

Regsvr32 vbscript.dll

Click OK

Click Start, Run, type

Regsvr32 jscript.dll

Click OK

i tried both methods you suggested but still cant view videos.how
frustrating!the help centre suggested i try installing silverlight so will
try.although,it says javascript is turned off,if thats the case how do i turn
it on!aaaaaagh!thanks joe.

Ah, Adobe Flash Player.. here's a possible solution:

"What I finally did (that worked) was to go to the Adobe Flash website
www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and they have a utility that will
completely remove Flash Player from your computer. Run this utility,
THEN reinstall Flash Player and you should be okay."

still no joy after installing silverlight?!im at a loss what else to do.have
no idea where to go with it next.how frustrating.

yay!!success at last!i uninstalled the flash player then reinstalled it and
it did the trick!thanks for your help joe-your a lifesaver!
