While trying to navigate a tech support site this message was displayed:

"You need a JavaScript enabled browser to use Virtual Chat Please close this
window and enable scripting in your browser options. Then launch this
application again.".
I am unable to locate that function within IE 6, Win XP PRO. Any help
would be appreciated. Gerald

One option is to go to http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp and download the
Java plug-in.

Read the OP again - he needs javascript, not java. Two very different
things

To enable javasript in IE6, use Tools/Internet Options/Security tab. Click
on the Internet icon at the top, then the Custom Level button at the bottom.
Scroll down to the Scripting section (way down), make sure Acive Scripting
is enabled. Click OK, OK and it "should" be working. Your mileage may
vary.

Control Panel - Internet Options, and Security. Select Internet and it
should be enough just to select the Medium setting. If you click Custom
you will see settings for Scripting down at the bottom; in Medium they
ought all to be enabled.
Don't confuse Javascript - which will be turned on by this - with Java,
an entirely different matter, which may need getting the Java Virtual
machine. That is no longer available from Microsoft (as a result of the
suit by Sun),

You can still get a 3805 or 3809 build of this Java engine from some
sites that are *not* MSoft sites - and MSoft is not going to object.
eg 3805 from Http://www.bigblackglasses.com/staff/downloads/msjavx86.exe

Once you have such an older version you can get the 816093 'critical
security update' which is effectively a complete build, 3810
