Javascript windows won't open after sp2

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on why Javascript
windows won't open after sp2 was installed. There are other machines
there with SP2 and the windows will open.

Here are the details:
The particular windows I am wanting to popup are simple photo's from a
University website showing the facilities.
There are other machines there with XP Sp2 and they are opening these
windows fine.

What I have tried:
Turning off the popup blocker in windows security center
Disabling all AV and firewalling programs
Booting to safe mode and trying.
Relaxing the privacy settings in IE Options
Relaxing the settings in Windows Security Center

TIA
Robert

This has worked for me in the past:
Re-register the following DLL files (Start, Run, regsvr32.exe
<dll_file_name>)
SHDOCVW.DLL
OLEAUT32.DLL
ACTXPRXY.DLL
MSHTML.DLL
URLMON.DLL

Thanks for your reply Stace.
It turned out to be a searchbar that had been installed which had a
popup blocker included in it.
(They had 3 popup blockers on the one machine lol nice!)
Thanks again.

Robert W hi,

I think I have the same problem, on the net certain sites will not display
applets etc, and there is a JavaScript void sign bottom left. I have SP2.
Have gone to tools internet options security custom and enabled scripting but
nothing gets any better.

Did you solve your problem?

Thanks

Ollie

It may also arise if the script is trying to set up a cookie, and on the
Privacy page cookie control is too high, so try that at low (initially)
to see
