JavaScript on IE Stopped Working

Ok - everything has been working fine with my Vista install I that got
fresh on a new Dell laptop. Aside from all the annoying 'run as
administrator' when I want to flush my dns or debug with visual
studio. But what has happened to me today has me at my wits ends and
my hand is on my old XP license ready to install.. Please I hope
someone can help me..

This AM all javascript in my IE 7.0 browser stopped working. I have
tried everything imaginable to get it to work again. I set all my
security setting to low - enabled everything - disabled all add-in's.
No luck.. so I started IE with no add ins and I even then reset all IE
settings back to default. It still doesn't work!? I noticed that .js
file execute in Windows Scrpt Hot - is there a problem with that? What
can I do? Is it possible to install over IE7 to get a fresh install?
And yes I ran defender and I'm using Virus scan and its updated
nightly.

Have you tried using the System Restore function to take you back to a time
prior to when all this began?
