Hello,

I've read a bit about Java on the web, but I don't really understand it. I
have java installed on my Vista, but do I need it ? I keep getting prompted
to install the latest version.

Can I uninstall Java please , ?

Thanks

Sure, uninstall it. Then if you find you really want it you can always
install the latest version from Sun.

Some websites use Java to safely run small programs, called "applets",
within your browser. A prime example is
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/crossword/, which uses Java to let
you solve the Newsday crossword puzzle interactively.

If you don't use any sites that use Java applets, then you won't miss
it. If you uninstall it, then run into such a site that you do want to
use, it's easy to go to www.java.com/getjava and install it.
