Whenever I go to a site like games.yahoo.com, I get a
little "Install on Demand" pop-up window telling me that
I need to install the Java VM. I get this message even
though I have the JVM installed -- this whole problem
started when I upgraded my JVM from version 1.4.0 to
1.4.2. In any case, I click on download and I'm taken to
some Microsoft webpage that tells me I can't download the
JVM unless I have Microsoft's JVM installed, which
Microsoft is phasing out...
I've tried re-downloading the JVM from Sun's site, but
that hasn't solved my problem. I notice that under
the "Advanced" tab in "Internet Options," there's a
checkbox for "Use Java 2 v1.4.0_01 for <applet>" but
there's no checkbox for "Use Java 2 v1.4.2_01 for
<applet>". So does anybody have any idea how to configure
IE to use a different version of the JVM? Or does anybody
have some other solution?
Thanks a lot,
Jay
