java virtual machine

I keep getting a message when I atttempt to use certain
websites that says I need to download and install Java
Virtual Machine - I click on download and it takes me to a
page that is titled - transitioning from the MS Java
Virtual Machine - there's nothing there that explains what
to do or what to d/l, it appears to be written for IT
prof'ls, which I'm not - help!

Understand that because of a court decision Microsoft has stopped all Java
support.
