java virtual machine

on most sites i visit it states i need j.v.m. to look at
the site correctly and displays a download window when i
click on download it starts to dowload then stops and
displays this message a setup error has occured, i have
tried to download direcly from microsoft but still the
same error message comes up can anyone tell me what the
problem is
