been added by java.on my computer i now have the following;-
java 2 runtime enviroment,se v 1,4.2 03

se v 1,4.2 06
j2se runtime enviroment 5.0 update 2
my question;-can i delete the 03,05,06 from the programs in control panel,as
they do take up quite a bit of memory and keep the latest update 5.0 update 2.

Hey,

If you have more than 1 Java Runtime Environment under Control Panel >
Add/Remove Programs, please have them uninstalled.

Once done, try accessing any Java site (http://games.yahoo.com for example),
and if the Java applet doesn't load properly, please reinstall Java 2
Runtime environment 5.0 Update 2.

If you only have 1 Java RUntime Enviroment under Control Panel > Add/Remove
Programs, i believe that you can safely delete the older version of Java
Environment folders.

HOpe this helps.

Pcah,

"If it ain't broken, dont fix it".

If the older version is working properly, just use the latest 1.4.x version,
instead of the newer 1.5.x version.

And Java Web Start is useless, as when a page where java is needed, it will
auto start. You do not need to start Java manually.

Hope this helps.
