java stopped working

I have Sun Java version 1.5.0_04-b05 installed. It stopped working in
IE6, but still works in Mozilla Firefox. Can anyone help? This is my
third time asking for help; it must not be a common problem.

Did that. Sun Java (the only option) is enabled, but I still can't load
Java applets in IE.

I have the same issue. I support a web/java based applicaton and have had
several customers call in with java problems. Neither Sun nor MSVM 3810 will
work. We have gone as far as uninstalling and reinstalling Sun, as well as
disabling the VM, nothing works.

This is NOT a problem with Sun, it works just fine in Firefox and Netscape,
it's obviously an issue with IE.

Same problem here. See my post from today in this newsgroup.

It has to be something in IE. MSVM and SUN both do not work in IE. I've
tried everything to fix it that I can think of (including windows update to
patch the system as far as it can be patched). No luck. Even tried SFC to
scan.. it didn't find anything!

Java can also be disabled via Tools...Internet Options...Security tab,
Custom button. Don't know if one option selected on one tab affects the
other, however.

Tried that...

I first thought it might be a problem with the MSVM install, so I disabled
it through Security. With only Sun checked off in Advanced, still no luck.
I've tried all possible combinations of enabling/disabling each Java version
(MSVM and SUN) even uninstalling/reinstalling Sun, with no luck.

Any of the obvious solutions have been tried. If I could even pin-point the
CAUSE of this issue, I would be happy.
