Java in Microsoft

I recently installed some of the new hotfixes on our XP
and 2000 workstations and now have no Java. I reinstalled
Sun Java runtime environment 1.4.2 and get asked for a
username and password whenever it needs to open up an
applet. Does anyone know of a solution or suggestion to
eliminate the login?

Uninstall Java and then install the MS version from an AOL
CD
