Hi:
There are three computers which all are manufactured by HP and very
identical in
features, except years' difference and all working very well.

One of my family members need to put his 'time-card' from home, even though
there
is the computer he's using in his field-office.

Every day, he is able to put his 'time-card' ONLY one of the computers.
Other 'two'
computers, he's NOT able to bring up the site for his 'time-card.'

Then, he asked his co-workers about this problem why he's NOT able to get
the site
for 'time-card.' His co-worker told him the problem is MOST likely 'Java.'
And, if there is 'JAVA' on two of the computers, he's able to get the
web-site which
he needs for his daily 'time-card.'

What is 'JAVA?'
I heard about 'Java,' however I have NO idea,
..... how or what should I take action on 'Java.'

Thanks for your help in advance, ... Always,

Hi:
Thanks for your quick response.

For some reason, this 'JAVA' was wiped out or misplaced,
as seeing that he could access his 'time-card' until two weeks ago.

My question is;
'How to enable 'Java' in WindowsXP, so that he's able to access
the site for his 'time-card?'
Thanks for response.

It isn't something you enable - it's something you install. Go to
www.java.com and get the latest runtime environment.

I had a similar problem with an older computer. For years, Java worked
just fine. Then one day, it stopped working with IE6 SP2. Java continued
to work with Mozilla Firefox, but I was never able to solve the problem
with Java under IE6. I tried uninstalling all versions of Java, and
reinstalling. This did not help. I tried a "repair" of IE6, but to no
avail. Now I have a new PC, and Java works fine with both browsers.

Hi:
Thanks for your sharing similar experience.

As to age of the computer, ... one of them is Brand new which I purchased
just
one week ago. It's a powerful and up-to-date machine.

Then, what puzzling me is why this, a brand new computer has NO capacity to
handle 'security' stuff. Becuase, the place where I live is many people
holding
security-related jobs.

In regard to 'Java,' I just downloaded, then hopefully it takes care of
this problem.

Thanks ALL!

I have no idea what you mean by this...

I also don't know what this means or why it's relevant... ?

Yes, me too.
