java and ms virtual machine?

i am not sure of the relation of java and ms virtual
machine. in other words im not sure if java needs to go
with the virtual machine or if it's just one item.i
installed ms virtual machine v3810 on my xp system in
order to play a game on the net. however the game seems
to work while on another site it says the java installed
is buggy and recommends downloading sun java.

in order to do that do i uninstall ms virtual machine and
download sun's java or keep ms vm and download the newer
java...or none of the above??? any information would be a
big help!!!

thank you

if you install the sun java VM it'll replace the ms one. you can of
course uninstall the ms one first if you like.

ms no longer distributes its vm [technically], but you can find it if you
do a google for it. [it's in windows update CATALOG too if you know where
to look].
