Japanese software support

I have a Japanese software program (Sony SonicStage) that
displays nothing but question marks (???) where the
Japanese characters should be. I already have Japanese
langauge support and the IME installed, so I can
read/write Japanese in Internet Explorer, and the
Japanese language version of MSN Messenger has no
problems. Does anybody know what the problem is with this
program? I thought it would be logical that, if the
Japanese language messenger worked, this Japanese
language program shouldn't have problems, but this isn't
the case. The question mark problem isn't specific to
SonicStage - it looks like it occurs in any non-Microsoft
program.

Change the Language for non-Unicode programs to Japanese.

Thanks - that was just what I needed to know. I remember
seeing that option, too, but for some reason remembering
it didn't work last time. Must have been confused. I
still have a few display problems on certain areas of the
program, but it's at 90% now. Better than nothing but
question marks!
