i've just spent the last day re-building my win2k

probably would have been better of doing a clean install, but im at the
point that the system seems (knock on wood) to be stable and working. so im
kinda making backups of critical stuff and planning on a clean install
shortly. anyhow, during the last few reboots after making minor tweaks of
problems, somehow the 'line up icons' function (right-click desktop) quit
working. anyone know how that can be re-enabled, not that it is a critical
problem?

this apparently is kind of a problem that affects where things are going on
the desktop for other actions also.

when i try to save something to the desktop they're hiding themselves under
the top menu bar. the bottoms of the icons barely stick below so i have to
snap em and pull them down.
