And its ok..
In fact since installing the service pack I've had no problems wotsoever. I
was getting random lock ups in dx10 related games namely Crysis in highest
settings & a reasonably high resolution. Yes I was bang up to date with
hotfixes and drivers etc prior to SP1 install & No I dont work for Ms.
Im just suggesting everyone running Vista try installing the service pack
which we all know traditionally debugs Windoze.

Agreed, and it reports full RAM installed properly

It's great when it fixes a known problem. For some like me, my system has
run great from jump. So I don't have any issues that are currently
addressed. I am a firm believer in the old adage...If it ain't broke, don't
fix it!

Seen SP's break more than they fix (NT4), and others clean up problems. What
gets me are the people that load it, KNOWING it is still in beta, and then
blowing a gasket when it breaks something...:/

yup buts thats daft. I installed it to fix issues with establishing a stable
gaming platform. no DX10 support in XP forced me to install Vista (and it
came free with old OEM PC).

But does not make full RAM available as there's still 32-bit address space
limit. It will as you say correctly report that 4GB is installed, but the
actual memory available won't change (3326, 3581MB, or whatever it is).
