I've got two questions...

1. Whats the difference between Sleep and Hibernate.
2. Why doesn't my maching go in sleep mode sometimes, even if there
are no apps running?

1) hibernate writes all the contents of the ram on the hard disk and really
closes the computer, sleep put it to a reduced energy state without
emptying the ram.
With sleep my pc never stops the fans of the power unit..

2)There is something else preventing it? lol see whats going on in the
processes

1. Sleep is a low-power mode where the computer is running and suspended to
memory. Hibernation is a low-power mode where the computer is not running
and suspended to the hard drive.

2. Who knows? Bad driver reporting a failed standby state? Wireless mouse
or network adapter getting strange signals keeping it active? Movement of
the mouse (even fractional movement of a laser mouse can do it)?

Hello everyone,

I installed the Starry Night Update 6.06 but the application fails to
open.The reason:the side-by-side configuration
is incorrect.I uninstalled and reinstalled twice that did not help.Somebody
suggested Microsoft Visual++ is the
probably the culprit and needs to be re.installed but I got a error
message.I run Vista Home Premium since its
introduction but never came accross something like this.

Regards
Frank
