iTunes and Windows

I copied a cd onto My Music (using iTunes) and it appears one of the
albums/songs is corrupt or something because everytime I now try to open the
My Music folder the entire window shuts down. I have ran norton doing a full
disc scan and it fails at a specific album. I then ran it on everyhting
except My Music and all OK. The problem I have is that I cannot "get into"
the My Music folder to delet the album that's causing the problem. Since then
I have also experienced Windows Internet explorer shutting down
intermittently. Is there any other way into the My Music folder so I can
delete the contents?

Have you tried Safe Mode?

Yes I have but no joy. The instant I click on the itunes folder the whole
window shuts down. It does not shut down the pc - just the explorer window.
And just to make it even worse, after I do a full cold bootup it will allow
me into the iTunes folder and when I attempt to delete the errent album the
folder shuts down.
Not sure if I need to do a full xp re-install.

Since you know the problem is with that one file, try deleting the file
from the commandline. In your Regular Mode, make a note of the path to
the file. It will be something like:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes

Check without actually going into the iTunes folder. Now restart the
computer and go into Safe Mode Command Prompt. Navigate to the My Music
directory and:

del \iTunes\name-of-bad-file [enter]

If you aren't sure of the exact name of the file, then you can navigate
to the iTune directory and do dir to get a listing of all the files in
there first.
