I am trying to install the latest version of itunes. I get a message that
says: Internet Explorer cannot download itunes setup.exe from
appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net. The operation has timed out. Has anyone
experienced this, and if so, do you have any suggestions. Thanks so much.

Try again..
It downloaded here a few sec ago -- 36MB in about 1 minute.
Are you attempting from within Itunes or via IE7 ? Try the latter.
If the latter add apple.com and edgesuite.net to your trusted sites in IE.

If Norton is installed disable internet worm protection.

I'm presuming that you tried to download iTunes from www.itunes.com.

I would suggest trying again later, perhaps tomorrow. It could be that
either network traffic prevented you from getting the download, or the
download server was offline when you tried to download iTunes.

If that doesn't work, you might want to try a different Web browser. I've
had no problems downloading iTunes through Firefox, if that's a help.

I have since found and used a program called "Smarty Uninstaller" that does
an even better job of uninstalling programs, even tough ones like McAfee and
Norton. You scan your computer and the program identifies all the programs
on your computer, listing those that have their own uninstaller program and
those that are only remnants of a program. First you click for it to use the
program's uninstaller, and then when its finished, Smarty UI identifies any
program remnants and will then uninstall the remnants (from files and folders
to registry entries). Once the program you're interested in is completely
uninstalled, you can do a clean install of the update without problems. For
Smarty UI see link below:

I actually just purchased my computer. I've been getting this message even
though Itunes was not previously installed. Any other suggestions? Thanks
