It's baaaaaaack: search/indexing problem

The search function in OL 2007 on Vista has stopped, for the umpteenth time,
returning any results. I have exhausted all of my previous tricks including
booting into safe mode and deleting all of the files and folders at:

c:\programdata\microsoft\search\data\temp and
c:\programdata\microsoft\search\data\applications\windows

and then re-indexing. I still get no results. This may or may not be
related but it seems coincidental that when this problem occurs, I also lose
the ability to launch Windows Media Player, either by clicking on a file icon
or opening the program itself directly.

I will be extremely grateful for any help anyone can offer; I have thousands
of contact and e-mail records and not having the ability to search for names,
subjects, etc. is crippling to me.

Mr. Kirk: I am unable to help you myself; I do not have Office 2007 yet,
only Office 2003. However, my understanding is that you are able to get free
Microsoft help with regards to Office 2007 from Microsoft for ninety days
after you first contact Microsoft for help with regards to Office 2007. So,
if you have not yet contacted Microsoft for help with regards to Office 2007,
you should be able to do so (both via email and telephone) and get help with
any Office 2007 problems for ninety days from that point.

I received the following email from a man, a Microsoft employee, from whom I
was getting Vista help from. "... You have the ability to have free cases
created for the first 90 days after the first case for Office 2007 was
created. On the research team especially we our only allowed to work on the
issue in which was occurring when the case was created. ...

Sincerely, Blair Fraser

Thanks for the reminder! Unfortunately, I'm an early adopter and well past
my 90 days since I immediately had problems with teh product and startied my
tech support clock ticking.

I have a new development in my problem: instant search in Outlook DOES work
but only in safe mode. When I open Outlook in unsafe (?) mode, I get a
script error. I wonder if this may be related:

Line: 298
Char: 1
Error: Class not registered
Code: )
URL: Outlook Today

I disabled (unchecked) RSS feeds underneath macros --> security... that seems
to have fixed it for me.

See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;927595 This
worked for me as I was administrator, Office 2007, Vista:
1) create an administrator account "Rhett".
2) Logon as Rhett and remove admin from Charles
3) Logon as Charles > Rebuild Outlook Instant Search index: Outlook Search
Options > Clear checkboxes in Index-in these files > File > Exit > Start
Outlook > do it again to check the boxes for the .pst files > File > Exit >
Start Outlook. Index begins. Soon, I got some results.
