Indexing is not running

I've registered many folders in 'Indexing Options' - 'Modify'. There
are about 2GB indexing files in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search after
indexing (200,000 files indexed). However, there are some corruption,
so I completely remove all indexed folder, and rebuilt it from
'Advanced' menu. Now, C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search is completely
empty.

Then, I tried to add index locations in 'Indexing Options'. However,
when I launched 'Indexing Options', there are no folders (of course!),
and the dialog box says 'Indexing is not running' in the top. The
problem is 'Modify' and 'Advanced' buttons are disable, so I cannot
add location anymore. I've also noticed that 'c:\windows
\system32\SearchIndexer.exe' is not working anymore.

How can I restart index service? Thanks in advance.

There are a service 'Windows Search' that launches 'C:\Windows
\system32\SearchIndexer.exe /Embedding'. However, when I restart the
service, I got the following error message:

---
Windows could not start the Windows Search on Local Computer. For more
information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft
service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific
error code -2147218141.

When I search a specific keyword in Windows Explorer's search box in
right top corner, the yellow caption bar pops up with 'Your searches
might be slow because the index is not running. Click to turn on the
index...'. So I click the bar, turn on the index in the following
dialog box:

[Window Title]
Turn on Index

[Main Instruction]
Do you want to turn on the index?

[Content]
Searches will be faster if you turn on the index.

[Turn on Index] [Cancel]

But, turning on index in the dialog box does not work. Still no index
service are running.
