microsoft windows search indexer error, Outlook

When I have Microsoft Outlook open I continue getting the following error
message, "Microsoft Windows Search Indexer has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

This started approximately 3 weeks ago but I have had this computer and
outlook since last October. It has slowed down my ability to search in
"tasks". Sometimes the task searches can't be completed at all.

When I search Outlook "tasks" I get the following message, "Search results
may be incomplete because items are still being indexed. Click here for more
information." When I click on it I get the following message "Outlook is
currently indexesing your items. Search results may be incomplete because
items are still being indexed. 1423 items remaining in "personal folders".
1423 items remaining open across all open mailboxes.

Going back to the error report. When I click on a link in the error report
stating, "To see what data this error report contains, click here." The
following information is provided.

Error signature - szAppName : SearchIndexer.exe szAppVer :
6.0.6000.16431
szModName : esent.dll szModVer : 5.1.2600.2780 offset : 0001d415

It also has a link stating, "To view technical information about the error
report, click here." When I click it I see the following information.

C:\DOCUME~1\SPENCE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER004f.dir00\SearchIndexer.exe.mdmp

C:\DOCUME~1\SPENCE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER004f.dir00\appcompat.txt

I sync my outlook with Palm m500 on a daily basis. I don't use the e-mail
sync. The categories between Outlook and Palm have not been recognizing each
other from the beginning in October 2007.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Spencer
