items i send don't appear in sent folder

I've added a btinternet account to outlook. I can send items OK, but they
aren't recorded anywhere. I've checked that the 'save sent items' box is
ticked. And I've checked that filters are cleared. Can anyone help me
please?! Thank you

It's a miracle! Outlook suddenly came up with loads of error messages, then
froze for a while, then closed down. I've opened it up again, sent a new
message, and it seems to be OK now. Sorry if I've wasted your time, but
