ITE IT8212 ATA RAID controller

I have 4 IDE devices: 1 old HDD; 2 new fast disks (same model); DVD burner.
The mainboard has only 2 IDE channels and I wanted all devices to be master.
So I bought this PCI card to add two more IDE channels.
ITE IT8212 ATA RAID controller (Chronos)

I moved the two new disks to it, but the performance on the software
2xRAID(0)-strippe went down from 150MB/s to 60MB/s. I moved to hardware
2xRAID(0)-stripe, but instead of raising, the performance went further down
to 51 MB/s.

I decided to move the 2 new disks back to the main-board`s controller and
the DVD-burner and old disk to the PCI card. Unfortunatele the DVD-burner
(PX-760A) is not recognised by the PCI controller.

How do I make the DVD-burner work with the PCI controller?

Any sudgestions to arrange the devices in a better way?

Well it wouldnt be recognized since its not a hd..2 IDE channels = 4 IDE
cable connections,with 3hds & 1 dvd burner all should get connected...Either
way,how does one get 150mb/s from an IDE connection from the M/B,the
fastest is 133MB/S and thats with a maxtor IDE hd,all others are 100MB/S...
A PCI RAID controller with IDE hds set as RAID could get 150MB/S transfering
the data (theredically) but no IDE hd can transfer at that speed, only SATA or
SCSI.So w/o maxtor,w/o SATA,youre RAID controller will only muster 100MB/S
tops, you might get the RAID benifits of the configuration, but thats it....
