it played before but not now

i am having a problem seeing the picture in the little window in Win Movie
Maker, it is black. I have audio but the screen is black. The file is an MPEG
video file. the fisrt time i opened Win Movie maker it worked but now it
isn't for some reason. The videos work in all other programs. I'm sure it is
just the settings....can anyone help me?
