IT KEEPS CRASHING!

Everytime I make a movie everything goes fine until I try to add an effect or
something to the video and then it crashes to the desktop with no error
messag eor anything. What can I do to fix it?!!!!!!!!!!!
 
What program are you using to make movies. What are you running on...?
Spec..?
