I've been getting the above message when I try to log into a handful of
sites. I am running IE 6, SP 2 and have my security settings set to the
lowest possible in regards to cookies, enabled "accept all cookies" in
general, putting the site names in "allow all cookies" and my Trusted sites.
I do not use a firewall and have been using the same virus software for a few
years now whereas this problem has only arisen in the last couple days. My
date is correct and I have cleaned out the Temporary Internet Files and
Cookies using both the "Internet Options" and the Disk Cleanup.
I run a second computer, which doesn't have trouble accessing these sites,
on this connection and set this computer to the same security settings as the
second one, but I still cannot get on the sites. I just ran MS Update and a
virus scan and rebooted the computer to make sure I wasn't missing anything,
but the problem continues. Any help would eb greatly appreciated.

Hi Ace,
Open your IE Properties and click on Advanced Tab, then scroll down to the
Option:
*HTTP 1.1 Settings;
[ ] Use HTTP 1.1

Then to Security Option@
[ ] Use SSL 2.0
[ ] Use SSL 3.0
[ ] Use TLS 1.0
Select all the Above/or Check Box
Click Apply/OK

Navigate to your HOSTS file in the Windows Explorer and Rename to Hosts.OLD.
How to find Hosts file follow this; Open Windows Explorer and Click on your
[+] C:\ and Click the [+] beside Windows, sunb-Folders Open click [+] beside
System32, another Sub-Folder open Click on drivers and locate the flder named
*etc* and look in the right pane and you will see Hosts file but be careful
to not rename the Hosts file with Extension .SAM, please leave this alone.
Right Click on the Hosts and select from the Sub-Menu Rename and give the
name Hosts.OLD.
Reboot your computer and hope this will cure the problem.
HTH
Please write back and let us know

It worked about 50%. I knew of 2 specific sites where I got the message and
it solved the problem on one of them, but the other still gives me the above
message. I am not using a server other than the one at my ISP, and as I said,
my other computer also uses that one and it's fine.
Also, I've noticed that on some sites I log into like Yahoo mail and some
message boards, even though I click the "remember me" or similar box, I can
be navigating the site for only a couple minutes when all of a sudden I'm
logged out again. Even worse is when I log in and then get the login screen
again, so I re-log in only to find that things marked "new" are now marked as
already received because it sees my first login as successful, then a logout,
then another successful login less than a minute later.

I do appreciate that assistance, as it has fixed some of my problem, just
not all of it.

Hi Ace,
1-- Download this freeware from here and scan for Malware on your computer:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ for Lavasoft SE personal use.
Update it and Scan for malware, then TRy to register these DLLs by opening
the Command RUN and type one command at a time and press OK.
regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 Msjava.dll
regsvr32 Initpki.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Softpub.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll (note the Space between regsvr32_Shell32.dll in all
cases)
After finishing registering the DLLs and get success for them Reboot and try
the website.
2-- If no luck, open RUN command and type: Iexplore /rereg Click OK
and wait for it to finish.

3-- Flush the DNS file by Runing again the RUN command and type:
CMD Click OK and in the Prompt command C:\>ipconfig /flushdns Press
Enter on your Keyboard, then type exit and click Enter to exit the command
Prompt window.

4-- Open the RUN command again and type this: CMD Press OK, in the Prompt
command C:\>netsh winsock reset Press Enter on your Keyboard, and type
exit to Exit the Command Prompt.

5-- Open the IE Properties and Click on the Privacy Tab then click on Site
(or Websites) and see if or Remove all listed websites there.

Please Note Reboot after every step and see if it will cure your issue, you
may do not need to go through all of these steps.
Hope this helps
