Issues when publishing a powerpoint online

I noticed that when I saved my presenation as a webpage and tried to publish
online there were some issues:
- single quotes were turned into question marks
- bullets were formatted differently -- some looked like an easel with a
paintbrush through it. some were question marks.

any suggestions?

What version of PowerPoint (and Mac or PC)?
What font was used for the text with the single quotes?
What font was used for the bullets?
