Issue with Forbidden access and 403 error

Have multiple issues. A previously accessable web site (Guitar Port online
via Line 6) with a subscribtion is now inaccessable. A status check built
into the firmware, I assume indicates that cookies are not enableabed in my
browser. Not so. Here is the displayed message
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access/mag/index.html on this server
Additionally a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an
Error Document to handle this request.

Line 6 tech support cannot fix this. If I do a system restore to 1/1/06 I
can connect. However, (here is the other issue) after doing this all of my
email between 12/31/05 and today's date goes missing. I would like to know if
there is something easy to look for that changed settings (registry?) that
can be edited, or if it is easier to restore lost emails.
Help!

Hi,
Sorry... shotgun approach. ;-)

First try these steps:
1. Clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete files
(and delete offline content when that dialog pops up) It's often recommended
that the TIF folder be kept at about 50 MB (Settings.)
2. Browse to your Cookies folder and delete any cookies from that site (or
delete all cookies.)
3. Cookie options are at Internet Options> Privacy. A setting of Low or
Medium should allow these cookies. If you select a Privacy setting other
than "accept all" or "block all" you can use the Edit button to accept or
block cookies from selected sites.
4. Verify that the computer's clock is correct- including the Time Zone.
5. *Important* Check any third-party security programs to see if one of them
is blocking
cookies.

Don,

Thanks but I have done all of this to no avail. My main question is why does
a restore work? There has to be somthing the was changed. Registry? I could
live with trying to save emails and do the restore. If you know an easy way
to save mail in OE. Appreciate your help
