Issue with Firewall on XP Pro SP3

Hi,

I have this weird problem with my two PCs running on XP Pro. It's about the
firewall. From the firewall under Control Panel - Security Center on my PC1,
it said that Norman Security Firewall is on. I found this bizarre since i
remember i have un-installed all software that is associated with Norman. I
looked up the Add/Remove programs list to see if i could spot programs that
have the word "Norman" but to no avail. I wonder if anyone might be able to
tell me where else it may possibly reside that i may have overlooked.

Another PC, PC2 - same issue with the firewall, only slightly different. It
said one or more firewall is running or on (something like that - can't
remember exactly). My question is how do i check to see which one is running
and resolve this. The message there was not too detailed for me.

Any helps would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

The previous installed firewall application may not have been uninstalled
completely i.e. some registry remnants may still be present in your OS
which are most probably causing the behavior you are experiencing.

Try this:
Run cmd.exe and write sc delete nipsvc or just disable the service in
services.msc

Good luck :)
