Issue with Edit in FP in Internet Explorer

I have a client who is experiencing the following with FP2002:

When selecting “Edit with FrontPage†on his website in IE he gets prompted
for his user details. When he clicks on OK the prompt returns. It continues
to prompt him for his user details unless he clicks Cancel.

He has tried the following:

delete all the *.web files, temporary files and rename the cmdui.prf file
Had the service provider reset his user details

I have tested the issue in FP2003 and get the same results. Any ideas as to
why it continues to prompt him for his user details? Any assistance in this
regard would be appreciated.

Same issue. It still continues to prompt for the user details
