Issue with DC demotion

A

adfreak

Hello,

I have a former client who just called saying they were having issues with
the AD. To make a long story short, he said he demoted the first DC he
built (which held all the FSMO roles) and made it a member server but did
not transfer/seize the FSMO roles prior to demotion.

There is another DC running however some of the issues he's experiencing now
include not being able to create users. Is there a way to manually transfer
those roles to the new DC?

Thanks

This is one way you can seize the rolls to your remaining DC.

And if for some reason during a demotion you end up with "orphaned data" in
your A/D this is a good one to have on file.
