issue establishing trust between two domains in seperate forests

mammons

I am trying to establish a trust between two domains in
seperate forests but when i run the new trust wizard i
get the error ( the name you specified is not a valid
windows domain name ) if i try to continue i get the
error ( the new trust wizard cannot continue because the
specified domain cannot be contacted) I believe the
issue is a dns issue but i am not sure how to correct the
problem.

Assuming that DNS is configured properly for each of the forests, the
simplest way to resolve this issue is to create a secondary zone in each
forest for the other side of the trust. Be sure the secondary is populated
and if you are running 2003, you can store this in AD as well. Once the
PDC Emulators of each Domain involved in the trust can resolve the other
side via thier local DNS, you should be able to establish the trust without
further incident.

You left out the part about running ipconfig /flushdns on both DCs.
