Alright here's the deal, the window that I type my
password and screen name on my dial-up pops up all the
time when I'm not using the internet and it's really
annoying. So how can I make it stop coming up without my
permission.

Thanx for your time,
Michele

Hi. Do you have kazaa or another programme loading when
your pc starts?( icons in bottom right of screen) If you
do then disable them at start up...right click the icon
and click the relevant box...or click start run then
type msconfig then choose start up. go through the list
of things and tick/untick what you do not want to load at
start up. like kazaa, msn etc. before you do this you
should create a restore point, just incase you untick a
box that your pc needs.
The reason you keep getting this dial up box, is a
programme that wants the web, is running ...so it keeps
asking if you want to join..find that programme and your
problems will stop.
I hope this helps.

Go to start , control panel, internet options, click on
the connections tab and check Never Dial a Connection,
click on OK.

Something is probably trying to access the internet. Get a spyware
scanner as these things love to dial home.

Greetings --

Disable or remove whatever application you have installed that is
trying to access the Internet. It may even be spyware or a Trojan.
