Island Inkjet (again??)

This probably has been covered but I don't recall. I have a Canon i9100
that I use at home for text and photos and an Epson R200 in another
location that is used pretty much exclusively for text, including
documents that contain color.

I use black for text and color (including black) exclusively for
photographs on the i9100. Mechanically, I have not heard of any
problems from Island Inkjet, but what about quality? How do their inks
measure up to OEM in terms of color match and longevity? Does anybody
have any first hand experience with their inks in these printers.

I have no experience with this company, but I do have some experience of
Measekite. If you are new here do yourself a favour and ignore him.

Island Inkjet is a company that started on Vancouver Island BC, where I
live. I have never used their products but I have spoken to may who
have, and some of the franchise owners, as well.

I would only say that I imagine the quality could be variable between
the different franchises, because of variations in employee training and
volume of material turnover. I "assume" they use standard suppliers for
their inks, to try to flatten the variation in the inks themselves, and
I also assume they use several; different inks based upon the brand and
type of cartridge being refilled, but how they do on refilling, how old
the inks are, how hygiene the process is, etc, probably varies between
employees and franchises.

I would guess for mission critical work, there may be some risk to
getting refills from any refiller, particularly for 7 or more color
machines, and for pigment inks.

YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING UNLESS YOU BUY OEM INK.

You do if you buy bulk ink from a repuable vendor that sells product from a
reputable manufacturer.

When you buy OEM ink you do know you are paying too much.

NO VENDOR IS REPUTABLE WHO DOES NOT TELL YOU WHAT YOU ARE BUYING.

Then OEM is not reputable.

Reputable means they have earned a reputation, usually positive, and in
the case of certain ink vendors, such as Hobbicolors, MIS, Atlantic
inkjet, that is the cast. OEM have a bad reputation, due to price.

That stupid piece of shit meashershithead can't ****in read so why bother.
Who cares what the chemical formulation of after market inks is as long
as it works. Anyway, even if they told you who would know what they were
talking about.
Now ask any oem what their chemical formulation is. They won't tell you
ANYTHING!!!
So who discloses whats in the bottle or cart?
Well they all say (oem & after market) ink that will work with your printer.
Guess what?
IT DOES!!!

If the issue is disclosure, then OEM doesn't either.
If OEM doesn't have to disclose their ink formulation or actual
manufacturer, then aftermarket vendors do not have to.

If the issue is reputation, then aftermarket vendors have earned a
positive reputation of selling quality ink, either directly themselves,
or by being known resellers of the inks from top end manufactuers.

That is beside the point. The point is EITHER the ink manufacturer or
reseller can be reputable enough to not have to disclose, or they have to
disclose to prove their worth.

Same difference, at least those resellers/relabellers are known to sell
top brands of aftermarket ink.
