ISDN RRAS Dial on Demand

P

Peter Meier

Hello,

I have a problem with a Dial on Demand Connection in SBS 2003.
The ISDN (AVM Fritz) Interface is configured for time out after 1
Minute.
But theres no disconnect, because:
Traffic von outside (normal worm attaks port 445, 135 ..) goes over
the ppp-connection and the counter counts the bytes. The firewall
blocks these traffic AFTER! the ppp-Connection.

No matter if Packet-filtering oder nat is configured, the traffic were
always counted by the ppp device.

Is there anyone who solve this problem?

Thanks for answers

As long as there is traffic going over the connection, the stay alive is
going to keep the connection going...you will need to make note of this and
do a manual disconnect or make it so they need to manually connect for
outgoing. leaving ISDN running can be very costly. But i thought microsoft
fixed that with 4.5 sbs,
