Is Windows RDP connection secure?

I assume "no", and ssh tunneling is required to make it so. Am i correct?
 
RDP is natively encrypted. See this article for information...

With that said a lot of folks, including myself, use RDP through a VPN or
SSH tunnel for added security. In my case I also use a private/public key
pair, protected by a strong pass word, for SSH authentication versus a
password.
