Is This Possible?

Hello Everyone,

I have an odd situation where I need to add a WinNT4 BDC
from the OS setup into our production Win2k AD
environment. It needs to have the SAM and it needs to be
NT4.

When I try and attach the NT4 BDC during setup I get "the
machine account for this computer does not exist or is
inaccessible". But when I add the NT4 BDC's computer name
to the DC list in Active Directory and try and connect it
to the domain I get "the computer name already exists on
the network"

Is this possible to do? Does anyone have any tricks to
adding an NT BDC after the environment is already Win2k
ADS?

Thanks!

Jack

Chances are that RestrictAnonymous=2 on the PDCE. You may want to
investigate this article:

246261 How to Use the RestrictAnonymous Registry Value in Windows 2000
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=246261

If this is true, make sure the policy and the LSA\RestrictAnonymous = 0 or 1
on the PDCE and reboot the PDCE.
