Is this a video problem?

I sent my grandson a small game file (exe) which works just fine on my
machine and others I sent it to. On his, it opens, then quickly closes. He
is running XP home on a Dell 4600 with integrated video. I have to do my
troubleshooting by email or IM, so I can't see what's there. He has
DirectX9. Any suggestions where I should have him check?

Thanks,
Anne

He is probably missing either the Java Runtime Environment, Macramedia Shockwave Player, or the Macromedia Flash Player. Try all three. I install them on every machine I touch that doesn't already have them...

Macromedia Flash Player:
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

Macromedia Shockwave Player:
http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?

Sun Java Runtime Environment:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

Good Luck,

This is not flash or java game, just something I created with Game Maker
and compiled into an exe program. But I'll have him check for the Java
Runtime. I know he has the Macromedia.

Thanks for the links
